Historic New Hope Ride
Sunday, August 11, 2019

Join us for the Annual 42nd Historic New Hope Ride on August 11, 2019. We will depart from Newark City Hall.

Start Location: Newark City Hall - 920 Broad Street, Newark, NJ 07102

Onsite Registration:
6:00 AM - 7:00AM

Wheels Hit Pavement: 7:30 AM SHARP!

There will be a Police rolling escort for the first 25 miles traveling into New Brunswick.  The first stop is the College Avenue Student Center (Hamilton St. and College Ave.) Here we will rest for about 15-30 minutes, regroup, refuel and refill the water bottles before heading out to New Hope, PA. Traditionally the pace picks up after this rest stop.  Make sure you download the GPS route to your bike computer, ride safe & ride smart to the New Hope Fire Department where lunch awaits.

Finish Location: Iberia Tavern located at 80-84 Ferry Street, Newark, NJ 07105.
We conclude here to celebrate the ride with food and drinks before we depart for the long journey home.

The Routes

50 Mile Route: The first 25 miles we ride at a pace of 14/15mph to keep the group together & safe as we roll through the traffic lights with the police escort from Newark to New Brunswick. This route will then head back north to Newark to complete the route.
Start location: Newark City Hall, 920 Broad Street, Newark, NJ 07102
Registration: 6:00 - 7:15AM  Roll out: 7:30AM

66 Mile Route: You will begin your journey to New Hope, PA at The Yard on College Ave. The pace from here will pick up once the group arriving from Newark has had their chance to replenish their water bottles.  If you are a strong rider or aspire to ride with the leading fast group of cyclists, you may want to keep watch for the early peloton as they depart College Ave to head south to New Hope. If you are here for the tour or just want to get to New Hope at a leisure pace, this is where you want to identify the group that meets your riding style and head south to New Hope for lunch at the fire house.
Start location: The Yard, 38 College Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ 08901
Registration: 8:30AM  Roll out: 9:45AM

114 Mile Route: This is the full course. You have been training all season for this day and finally the day has arrived. Are you ready to show your strength, power and endurance?  Saddle up and get ready for the race of your life as you begin this journey to New Hope. Yes, we know for the first 25 miles you are contained to a slower pace than your legs desire, but trust us it's for your own safety.  Once you arrive in New Brunswick and replenish the water bottles, meet up with a few new faces, take your photo shots and sign a few autographs, the pace will get exceedingly fast & hot as you head south to the New Hope Fire Department for lunch. Remember to save some in the engine for your return to Newark.
Start location: Newark City Hall, 920 Broad Street, Newark, NJ 07102
Registration: 6:00 - 7:15AM  Roll out: 7:30AM

Lunch Stop: New Hope Eagle Fire Department - 46 Sugan Road, New Hope, PA 18938
Lunch Served: 11:15 - 12:30PM.  Mass Departure: 12 noon with an escort so you can cycle across the Lamberville Bridge. If you miss the mass departure, you must walk your bike over the Lambertville Bridge.
