New Members Ride

Description: New Members & Beginners, this ride is for you. This day is designed with you in mind.

Come out and meet some of the club members and learn the basic ABCs of a bike check. We want to learn about your cycling needs and goals during this hands-on learning exercise on how to care for your bike. After the demonstration we head out for a social ride on this Memorial Day specifically geared for the beginners and/or newer members. The ride is 23 miles and FLAT as a pancake. 

If you are looking to advance to the next level or need tips on how to improved your cycling endurance come out and learned a tip or two from some of the more experienced members.

Ladies, you have a question and not ready to ask the men that work at your LBS (local bike shop), take advantage of this opportunity to meet other women in cycling and get those embarrassing or uncomfortable questions answered in person. 

Join us for smoothies or other iced beverages after the ride.


Ride Location: Millburn Clock Tower

Meet Time: 7:45 AM   Roll out Time:  Once the hands-on demonstration is completed

Parking Instructions:  Parking in the Clock Tower municipal lot is usually free on the Holidays.


Cancellations: Check the MTCCNJ Rides & Activities WhatsApp chat group (members only) for last minute updates or the Major Taylor Cycling Club of New Jersey private Facebook Group, for everyone else.

COVID-19: To minimize the spread of the virus we ask that all register from the website to avoid a paper sign in sheet at the start of the ride.  

REQUIREMENTS:
All riders must register for the ride. Let's roll out on time by registering before you arrive. This helps to quicken the check in process.

Please be sure to wear your club kit, bring your helmet, a spare inner tube, CO2 cartridge, bike pump, cell phone and a pleasant attitude.

Front and rear lights are recommended for this ride. The ride will NOT take place in rain or wet roads

- If you are sick, please stay home
- Avoid touching other riders
- Practice safe distancing at all times (6' rule)
- Bring your own hand sanitizer
