North meets South in New Hope
Description
:
Heading to New Hope to meet-up with Philly Major Taylor Cycling Club & Baltimore Velo City Riders for lunch.
We did this ride as an ad hoc ride last year and it was a blast. This year it's on the calendar as an official ride. Saddle up and get ready to cycle for a fast pace to New Hope, PA. No, it's not the same route as the August, Newark to New Hope Ride.
PLEASE WEAR THE WHITE CLASSIC KIT
!
There are 3 options...you pick your poison! Options 2 & 3 head to New Hope
Option 1
(
NO meet up with Philly)
7:00AM wheels hit pavement
51 mile route:
Start location Millburn
- This will take you to the meet up spot where we connect with the Major Taylor Central Club and YOU return back to Millburn. 1700 feet is just enough to get the HR up. We roll at 7AM PROMPT! If you arrive at 7:01AM meet us along the route.
Option 2
(meet with the Philly club)
9:00AM meet up time
61 mile route:
Start location Amwell Road
- This will take you to New Hope from Amwell Road and back to Amwell Road. The riders starting in Millburn will meet you and the Major Taylor Central club then head to New Hope to meet up with the Philly & Baltimore clubs. 2600 feet of climbing. We roll when the option 3 group arrives from Millburn around 9:00AM
NOTE:
The Central Jersey club may start at PJ's Pancake House and cycle over to Amwell Road for the meet-up. If you ride this option you will need to
park your car in the lot across the street from the Conoco Gas Station, 1008 Amwell Road, Hilsborough Township, NJ 08844
(intersection of route 533 and Amwell Road). If you start at PJs you will ride approximately 80 miles by the end of the day. Start here at the gas station you will have 61 miles. We roll from Amwell Road when the option 3 group arrives from Millburn. Meet here by 9:00AM.
Option 3
(
meet with the Philly club)
7:00AM wheels hit pavement
110 mile route:
Start location Millburn
- This will take you all the way to New Hope where we connect with both the Philly and Baltimore clubs then head to the Lumberville Café for a bite to eat before heading back to Millburn. 4400 feet of climbing with a good day of miles on the saddle.
We roll at 7AM PROMPT! If you arrive at 7:01AM meet us along the route.
PARKING for Option 1 & 3
It's Saturday so you will have to pay for parking if you use the municipal parking lot/garage. There is free parking at the Locust Grove Lot (Lenape Trail) on Glen Ave across the street from the Library. Please note space is limited because the hikers also use this lot.
